NOTICE OF MEETING
SEWAGE COMMISSION


Tuesday, January 15, 2019
Boardroom, located at 550 B Comox Road, Courtenay, BC commencing at 1:00 p.m.

The purpose of this meeting is for commission members to consider the matters included on the agenda below. The chair of the commission will preside over the meeting according to the CVRD procedure bylaw. This meeting is not meant for general public input. If members of the public wish to speak at a meeting, they should contact the CVRD legislative services department to request to appear as a delegation.

All commission motions will be voted on as determined under Bylaw No. 650.

In the event of an emergency the public gathering place is the parking lot outside the boardroom.

The first order of business is the election of the commission chair and vice chair. The corporate legislative officer will call the meeting to order and conduct the elections pursuant to the CVRD Board Procedure Bylaw.

2) EMERALD SHORES STRATA COMPLEX – SEPTAGE TIPPING FEE REBATE
 
Report dated January 10, 2019 regarding a recommendation to provide a rebate to the Emerald Shores Strata Complex for septage tipping fees incurred for receipt. [Item
 
Recommendation:
 
THAT a rebate be provided to the Emerald Shores Strata Complex in the amount of $8,048.54 (75 per cent of the septage tipping fees incurred) for flows trucked to the Comox Valley Water Pollution Control Centre septage receiving station whilst their wastewater pumps were unable to pump sewage from the strata into the Town of Comox collection system.
 
3) LIQUID WASTE MANAGEMENT PLAN - ORIENTATION
 
Staff to present orientation information regarding Liquid Waste Management Plan (LWMP).
 
4) WORK PLAN TO ADVANCE SERVICE NEGOTIATIONS WITH THE COMOX VALLEY SEWAGE COMMISSION
 
Report dated September 20, 2018 regarding a work plan to advance service negotiations with the Comox Valley Sewage Commission regarding the provision of service to Baynes Sound-Denman/Hornby Islands (Electoral Area A), for receipt. [Item
