CALL TO ORDER AND RECOGNITION OF TRADITIONAL TERRITORIES
The Chair called the meeting to order and acknowledged that the meeting was being held on the unceded traditional territory of the K’ómoks First Nation.
 
 
RECEIPT OF MINUTES
The minutes of the Area C Advisory Planning Committee meeting held April 18, 2019 were not received, pending some amendments as requested. The amended minutes will be brought back to the next meeting for receipt.
 
 
REPORTS
PROPOSED ZONING BYLAW AMENDMENT RZ 3C 18 – FORBIDDEN PLATEAU ROAD (FRY / TAYLOR)
 
 
J, MacLean, Rural Planner, provided an overview of the memorandum regarind RZ 3C18 for Forbidden Plateau Road (Fry/Taylor).
 
 
Jim Fry, applicant, was in attendance at the meeting.
 
 
G. Gordon/M. Presley: THAT the Area C Advisory Planning Commission oppose Zoning Bylaw Amendment RZ 3C 18 to enable a subdivision to create parcels with a minimum lot area of 4 hectares at Forbidden Plateau Road (Fry/Taylor) for the following reasons:

• The application lacks some of the necessary detail in the Regional Growth Strategy;
• concern regarding fire protection in the area;
• concern regarding the watershed and amount of water available, with the current well offering only a small amount of water at this time;
• concern regarding densification of the area with no services, and the example that would set for future applications.
