NOTICE OF MEETING
SEWAGE COMMISSION
Tuesday, August 13, 2019
Boardroom, located at 550 B Comox Road, Courtenay, BC commencing at 2:00 pm.

The purpose of this meeting is for commission members to consider the matters included on the agenda below. The chair of the commission will preside over the meeting according to the CVRD procedure bylaw. This meeting is not meant for general public input. If members of the public wish to speak at a meeting, they should contact the CVRD legislative services department to request to appear as a delegation.

All commission motions will be voted on as determined under Bylaw No. 650.

In the event of an emergency the public gathering place is the parking lot outside the boardroom.

D. REPORTS:
1) ELECTORAL AREA B PARTICIPATION ON THE SEWAGE COMMISSION
 
The following resolution was passed at by the Comox Valley Regional District Board at the July 28, 2019 meeting:
 
"THAT the matter of Electoral Area B participation on the Sewage Commission be referred to the Sewage Commission for further consideration of appointing the Area B director as a non-voting member for a temporary period of time, to be determined by the Sewage Commission."
 
The following reports are presented for background:
 
• Report dated July 5, 2019 regarding participation of the Director for Electoral Area B (Lazo North) on the Comox Valley Sewage Commission, presented at the July 16, 2019 Committee of the Whole meeting. [Item] 
 
• Report dated June 6, 2019 regarding participation of the Director for Electoral Area B (Lazo North) on the Comox Valley Sewage Commission, presented at the June 11, 2019 Sewage Commission meeting. [Item]

Recommendation:
 
THAT the committee adjourn to an in-camera session pursuant to the following sub-section of section 90 of the Community Charter:

90(1)(k) Negotiations and related discussions respecting the proposed provision of a regional district service that are at their preliminary stages and that, in the view of the committee/board, could reasonably be expected to harm the interests of the regional district if they were held in public.
