CALL TO ORDER AND RECOGNITION OF TRADITIONAL TERRITORIES
The Chair called the meeting to order and acknowledged that the meeting was being held on the unceded traditional territory of the K’ómoks First Nation.
 
 
ELECTION OF CHAIR AND RECORDING SECRETARY:
Glenn Loxam was selected as Chair for the Area A Advisory Planning Commission by acclamation.

Karen Fouracre was selected as Recording Secretary for the Area A Advisory Planning Commission.
 
 
RECEIPT OF MINUTES:
R. Kayfetz/B. Trussler: THAT the minutes of the Area A Advisory Planning Committee meeting held November 5, 2019 be received. [Item

REPORTS:
DEVELOPMENT PERMIT DP 13A 19 AND DEVELOPMENT VARIANCE PERMIT DV 7A 19 – 2750 CUMBERLAND ROAD (STRONG BACK HOLDINGS LTD)
 
 
B. Chow, Rural Planner, provided an overview of the memorandum dated November 25, 2019 regarding Development Permit Application DP 13A 19 and Development Variance Permit Application DV 7A 19 for two additional modular buildings and to vary the setback requirement at 2750 Cumberland Road (Strong Back Holdings Ltd). [Item
 
 
Andrew Johnson, proponent, was in attendance at the meeting.
 
 
K. Fouracre/R. Kayfetz: THAT the Area A (Baynes Sound - Denman/Hornby Islands) Advisory Planning Commission support Development Permit Application DP 13A 19 for two additional modular buildings at 2750 Cumberland Road (Strong Back Holdings Ltd) as presented, and recommend acceptance of the current form and character.

K. Fouracre/J. Yetter: THAT the Area A (Baynes Sound - Denman/Hornby Islands) Advisory Planning Commission support Development Variance Permit Application DV 7A 19 to vary the setback requirement for two additional modular buildings at 2750 Cumberland Road (Strong Back Holdings Ltd) as presented, for the following reasons:
• The buffer area outside the fence is sufficient.
• The building has a low profile and quiet use.

STATUS UPDATE ON APC RECOMMENDATIONS
 
 
B. Chow, Rural Planner, provided an update regarding Electoral Area Services Committee and board decisions related to APC recommendations.
