NOTICE OF A SPECIAL MEETING
SEWAGE COMMISSION


Thursday, February 20, 2020
Civic Room, located at 770 Harmston Avenue, Courtenay, BC commencing at 1:00 pm.

The purpose of this meeting is for commission members to consider the matters included on the agenda below. The chair of the commission will preside over the meeting according to the CVRD procedure bylaw. This meeting is not meant for general public input. If members of the public wish to speak at a meeting, they should contact the CVRD legislative services department to request to appear as a delegation.

All commission motions will be voted on as determined under Bylaw No. 650.

In the event of an emergency the public gathering place is the parking lot outside the Civic Room.

Recommendation:
 
THAT the proposed 2020 – 2024 Financial Plan for Comox Valley Sewerage System service, function 335-338, be approved subject to the following amendments to the personnel costs included in the recommended 2020 – 2024 Financial Plan, to be funded by reductions in the contributions to capital works reserves:

- 2020 $1,777,633
- 2021 $1,816,672
- 2022 $1,854,416
- 2023 $1,892,941
- 2024 $1,932,286

Recommendation:
 
THAT the commission adjourn to an in-camera session pursuant to the following sub-sections of section 90 of the Community Charter:

90(1)(k) Negotiations and related discussions respecting the proposed provision of a regional district service that are at their preliminary stages and that, in the view of the commission, could reasonably be expected to harm the interests of the regional district if they were held in public; and

90(2)(b) The consideration of information received and held in confidence relating to negotiations between the regional district and the provincial government or the federal government or both, or between a provincial government or the federal government or both and a third party
