In the event of an emergency the public gathering place is the parking lot outside the Civic Room.

Staff to provide a brief verbal update respecting the Comox Valley Regional District's response to the coronavirus (COVID-19).

1) COVID-19 EMERGENCY FUNDING OPTIONS TO SUPPORT KEY COMMUNITY AGENCIES
 
Report dated March 18, 2020 providing directors with some potential emergency funding options to support critical community / social support agencies in the Comox Valley in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, for receipt. [Item]

Recommendation:
 
THAT strategic allocations of the combined $201,846 currently earmarked in 2020 within the five electoral area Grant-in-Aid services, functions # 120 – 124, be undertaken in a timely manner with consideration given to provide emergency financial assistance to community / social support agencies, that provide vital supports to the most vulnerable individuals and/or groups in the Comox Valley in response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic;

AND FURTHER THAT unallocated surplus in the amount of $93,179 available to the Administration and General Government service, function #111, be redirected on an interim basis to provide emergency financial assistance to community / social support agencies, on an application basis, that provide vital supports to the most vulnerable individuals and/or groups in the Comox Valley in response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
