Minutes of the meeting of the Comox Valley Sewage Commission held on Tuesday, March 31, 2020 in the Civic Room of the Comox Valley Regional District offices located at 770 Harmston Avenue, Courtenay, BC commencing at 3:15 pm.

COMOX VALLEY SEWAGE MANAGEMENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE MINUTES
 
 
M. Swift/W. Cole-Hamilton: THAT the minutes of the Comox Valley Sewage Management Advisory Committee meeting held March 26, 2020 be received.

HOLDING TANK WASTE DISPOSAL USER RATE AND BYLAW 71 UPDATE
 
 
R. Arnott/W. Morin: THAT the report dated April 1, 2020 regarding a holding tank waste disposal rate and updated tipping rates for septage, be received.

K. La Rose, Senior Manager of Water/Wastewater Services, provided an overview of the staff report regarding a holding tank waste disposal rate and updated tipping rates for septage.
 
 
K. Grant/W. Morin: THAT Bylaw No. 71, being the “Comox Valley Sewerage Service Regulation, Fees and Charges Bylaw No. 71, 2010”, be amended to include rates for the disposal of wastewater from Comox Lake cabin holding tanks for the purpose of watershed protection.

K. Grant/W. Morin: THAT Bylaw No. 71, being the “Comox Valley Sewerage Service Regulation, Fees and Charges Bylaw No. 71, 2010”, be amended to include updated septage tipping rates for 2020-2022.

SCHEDULE IMPACTS OF COVID-19 ON COMOX VALLEY SEWERAGE SERVICE LIQUID WASTE MANAGEMENT PLANNING PROCESS
 
 
K. Grant/R. Arnott: THAT the report dated April 1, 2020 providing an update on the schedule impacts to the Comox Valley Sewerage System Liquid Waste Management Planning (LWMP) process in response to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, be received.

K. La Rose, Senior Manager of Water/Wastewater Services, provided an overview of the staff report regarding schedule impacts to the Comox Valley Sewerage System Liquid Waste Management Planning process in response to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
 
 
K. Grant/W. Morin: THAT the Comox Valley Sewage Commission endorse the delay, and updated schedule for public consultation for the LWMP approved shortlist of conveyance options as provided in the April 1, 2020 staff report.
