Note: In response to the COVID-19 pandemic and in accordance with Ministerial Order M083, this meeting is closed to the public. 1) ELECTED OFFICIALS' FORUM - EMERGENCY OPERATIONS CENTRE (EOC)
 
An Elected Officials' Forum will be held respecting the Comox Valley Regional Emergency Program, the roles and responsibilities respecting the Emergency Operations Centres (EOC) and the unique approaches being taken in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. An EOC factsheet is attached for information. [Item
 
The following presentations will be provided followed by questions and discussion:

- Presentation from Director Al Richmond regarding emergency operations within the Cariboo region.
 
- Presentation from Sybille Sanderson regarding regional EOC roles and responsiblities.
 
- Presentation from R. Dyson, Chief Administrative Officer, and Howie Siemens, Emergency Program Coordinator, CVRD regarding COVID-19 EOC operations.
 
Guest Speaker Biographies:

Sybille Sanderson
Sybille Sanderson has worked in Emergency Management since 1998 and was the Emergency Program Coordinator for the Cowichan Valley Regional District from 2009 to 2019. During this time Sybille led training and ESS and EOC response for the Regional Emergency Program including 4 Municipalities, 9 Electoral Areas and working with 8 First Nations through a variety of events including the 2009 flood that impacted 4 jurisdictions and the December 2018 windstorm which wreaked havoc on the entire region.

Director Al Richmond
Elected to the Cariboo Regional District (CRD) in 1993, Al served 9 years as Chair of the CRD and 10 years as Chair of the Cariboo Chilcotin Regional Hospital District. Al served on the Executive of the Union of BC Municipalities (UBCM) from 2007-2017 serving as UBCM President in 2015-2016. He has represented UBCM on the boards of the Federation of Canadian Municipalities, the Fire Chiefs Association of BC, and the Provincial Fire Service advisory committee.
