Civic Room, located at 770 Harmston Avenue, Courtenay, BC commencing at 3:00 pm.

The purpose of this meeting is for commission members to consider the matters included on the agenda below. The chair of the commission will preside over the meeting according to the CVRD procedure bylaw. This meeting is not meant for general public input. If members of the public wish to speak at a meeting, they should contact the CVRD Legislative Services Department to request to appear as a delegation. Report dated September 9, 2020 regarding an update/information on the Comox Valley Glacier Kings Junior B Hockey Club dressing room for receipt. [Item]

Recommendation:
 
THAT the Board support creating a new dressing room within the existing footprint of the Comox Valley Sports Centre in partnership with the Comox Valley Glacier Kings Junior B Hockey Club for their primary use during their season, subject to:
• Suitable agreement between the Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD) and the Comox Valley Glacier Kings Junior B Hockey Club.
• Reasonable costs incurred by the CVRD of approximately $25,000.
• Minimum contribution from the Comox Valley Glacier Kings Junior B Hockey Club of $20,000.

3) GRANT OPPORTUNITY TO RETROFIT COMOX VALLEY SPORTS CENTRE MEZZANINE AREA
 
Report dated September 10, 2020 regarding a possible grant opportunity through the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program – British Columbia Community, Culture and Recreation Infrastructure and to obtain support for the retrofit of the Comox Valley Sports Centre Mezzanine area for receipt. THAT to support the priority of retrofitting the Comox Valley Sports Centre Mezzanine area, staff be directed to investigate the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program – BC Community, Culture and Recreation Infrastructure grant opportunity and report back to the Comox Valley Regional District Board.
