90(1)(k) Negotiations and related discussions respecting the proposed provision of a regional district service that are at their preliminary stages and that, in the view of the commission, could reasonably be expected to harm the interests of the regional district if they were held in public; and 90(2)(b) The consideration of information received and held in confidence relating to negotiations between the regional district and the provincial government or the federal government or both, or between a provincial government or the federal government or both and a third party. | ||||||

| RISE AND REPORT: | ||||||
| The commission rose from its in-camera session at 10:57 am and reported as follows: | ||||||
| THAT the Comox Valley Sewage Commission approve the Comox Valley Regional District and K’ómoks First Nation Community Benefit Agreement as attached to this staff report dated December 16, 2020;
AND FURTHER THAT the Comox Valley Sewage Commission rise and report immediately that the agreement provides: • Comox Valley Sewage Commission compensation to the K’ómoks First Nation for resolution of past and future impacts of sewer infrastructure on K’ómoks First Nation Indian Reserve No.1; and • K’ómoks First Nation support for the Comox Valley Sewerage Service conveyance project and the Liquid Waste Management Plan; AND FURTHER THAT the Comox Valley Sewage Commission authorize the release of a joint statement with the K’ómoks First Nation notifying the public that the Comox Valley Regional District and K’ómoks First Nation have approved a Community Benefit Agreement for sewer servicing and development in the Comox Valley; AND FINALLY THAT the staff report dated December 16, 2020 and full details of the agreement be made public upon the finalization of the Community Benefit Agreement. | ||||||
